Rep. Dana Rohrabacher to Help Open
Three-Day International Climate Conference in Las Vegas July 7
California Congressman and Outspoken Global Warming Skeptic Will Give a Keynote Address
at the Ninth International Conference on Climate Change
JULY 2, 2014 — Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), vice chairman of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology, will be part of the opening night of the Ninth International Conference on Climate Change (#ICCC9) on Monday, July 7 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. He will deliver his keynote speech, titled “Global Warming as a Power Grab,” at 8:25 p.m. PDT.
“One of the traits of a fanatic is the willingness to conduct personal attacks, to limit debate, to use questionable facts and to seek government to impose policy on others,” Rohrabacher said.
Joe Bastardi, co-chief forecaster at Weatherbell Analytics and a frequent television guest for discussions about weather and climate, will precede Rep. Rohrabacher to deliver a keynote speech titled “When the Truth Is Found to Be Lies” at 8 p.m. PDT.
Both keynote presentations – and all three days of the conference – will be streamed live on the climate conference website starting at 7:45 p.m. PDT. The stream can also be viewed at CNSNews.com.

Global Warming Debate
The debate over the causes and consequences of global warming (or “climate change”) is one of the great controversies of the modern era. While environmental activists and some politicians claim “the debate is over” and call for immediate action to reduce man-made greenhouse gas emissions, others say the science points to only a very small human impact – too small to warrant concern – and the costs of trying to prevent global warming far exceed the benefits.
Ninth International Conference on Climate Change
The Ninth International Conference on Climate Change is expected to attract nearly 1,000 speakers, scientists, and guests willing to question whether man-made global warming is a problem worth addressing. The event has 32 cosponsors and features 60 prominent scientists and economists as keynoters or panelists.
Ten awards will be given during plenary sessions at the Ninth International Conference on Climate Change. For a list of award winners announced to date, click here.

Thirty-two Organizations Cosponsor Ninth International
Conference on Climate Change
Number of Sponsors Illustrates Range and Depth of Skepticism about Man-Made Global Warming
JUNE 30, 2014 — Thirty-two organizations, including several well-known think tanks and advocacy organizations, are cosponsoring an event billed as “the world’s largest gathering of global warming skeptics” in Las Vegas July 7–9. The Ninth International Conference on Climate Change (#ICCC9) features 60 of the world’s leading scientists and policy experts who are skeptical of man-caused global warming.
The sponsoring groups represent a wide swath of organizations working to advance free markets and sound science, including The Heritage Foundation, Competitive Enterprise Institute, and George C. Marshall Institute.
“This is a great show of unity in opposition to the global warming alarmism of President Obama and radical environmental groups,” said Joseph Bast, president of The Heartland Institute, the leading organizer and host of the event. “Having all these organizations endorse this conference means skepticism about man-made global warming continues to spread and gain respectability.”

Below is a list of co-sponsors, in alphabetical order, including a brief description of the organizations and quotes for attribution.
Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance
The Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance is a grassroots advocacy and activist organization dedicated to standing up for hardworking Australian taxpayers against special-interest groups. We oppose the high taxes, wasteful spending, and crippling red tape that are hurting Australian families and businesses, and we provide a voice for everyone who opposes the big-government agenda.
“The Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance is once again delighted to cosponsor the ICCC,” said Tim Andrews, executive director of the Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance. “With Australia set to repeal our destructive tax on carbon dioxide, we look forward to other countries following suit through learning from the experts at the conference, and rejecting failed policies based on alarmism and not real science.”
The Ayn Rand Institute offers a variety of educational experiences to promote Ayn Rand’s philosophy and her principles of reason, rational self-interest, and laissez-faire capitalism. Our perspective on issues of the day are based on the principles of a free society: laissez-faire capitalism, its moral foundations, its life-promoting consequences, and the pro-reason culture required.
The real battle isn’t over the environment. It’s about freedom. Blue challenges today’s radical Green ideas, contending economic development is not the enemy but the best friend of environmental stewardship; CO2 is life not pollution; and the world needs more people. Blue is a movement to replace Green.
“I’m so pumped to hear and meet some of the most well-qualified and well-known critics of green alarmism in the world at the ICCC9,” said J.D. King, director of Blue, a documentary that kicks off an alternative to the out-of-control Green movement.
Carbon Sense Coalition, Australia
The Carbon Sense Coalition is a voluntary group of people concerned about the extent to which carbon is wrongly vilified in Western societies, particularly in government, the media, and in business circles. We aim to restore balance and reason to the carbon debate, and to explain and defend the key role of carbon in production of most of our energy for heat, light, and transportation, and all of our food.
“The Carbon Sense Coalition is proud to endorse the Heartland Climate Conference and happy to be a co-sponsor,” said Viv Forbes, chairman of Carbon Sense Coalition, Australia. “This is an important conference to illustrate that there is no consensus on the science, and considerable logic and evidence to indicate that carbon dioxide does not control world climate.”
Center for Industrial Progress
The Center for Industrial Progress is a for-profit think-tank that offers a positive alternative to the anti-industrial Green movement. CIP pursues its mission through thought-leading content, high-impact messaging, and world-class training for a new generation of industrial advocates.

Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation
A coalition of theologians, pastors, ministry leaders, scientists, economists, policy experts, and committed laymen, the Cornwall Alliance is an evangelical voice promoting environmental stewardship and economic development built on Biblical principles.
“This conference is a tremendous opportunity for policymakers, educators, and concerned citizens to become familiar with the outstanding scientific reasons why fighting global warming by reducing CO2 emissions will harm America’s and the world’s poor,” said E. Calvin Beisner, founder and national spokesman for the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation. “The scientists, economists, and others gathered for this meeting are not only brilliant but also courageous. They deserve respect and support from every American concerned for integrity in science and in government.”
Energy Makes America Great Inc.
Energy Makes America Great Inc. and its companion educational organization, the Citizens’ Alliance for Responsible Energy (CARE), educate the public and influence policy makers regarding energy, its role in freedom, and the American way of life. Combining energy, news, politics, and the environment through public events, speaking engagements, and media, the organizations’ combined efforts serve as America’s voice for energy.
At the EPICC Institute – Energy Policy Issues and Climate Change – we believe the evidence regarding anthropogenic climate change is far from complete and compelling. While global warming alarmists are driving change through the media focused on distancing the world from fossil fuels, we have identified a strategic direction for meeting future energy needs. This direction will minimize carbon emissions and provide the world with reliable and affordable energy, stimulating economic growth and job creation.

The ICA is a not-for-profit corporation established in 1878, comprised of Illinois coal companies, operating under policies set by the organization’s board of directors.
International Climate Science Coalition
The International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC) is a non-partisan group of independent scientists, economists, and energy and policy experts working to promote better understanding of climate science and related policy worldwide. We aim to help create an environment in which a more rational, open discussion about climate issues emerges, thereby moving the debate away from implementation of costly and ineffectual “climate control” measures. Instead, ICSC encourages assisting vulnerable peoples to adapt to climate variability and continuing scientific research into the causes and impacts of climate change. ICSC also focuses on publicizing the repercussions of misguided plans to “solve the climate crisis.” This includes, but is not limited to, “carbon” sequestration as well as the dangerous impacts of attempts to replace conventional energy supplies with wind turbines, solar power, most biofuels, and other ineffective and expensive energy sources.
The Leadership Institute provides training to conservatives in campaigns, fundraising, grassroots organizing, youth politics, and communications. Since 1979, more than 147,000 conservative activists, students, and leaders around the world have been trained. Graduates include members of Congress, state legislators, local officials, media personalities, and conservative organization leaders.

Contributions to the MRC are tax-deductible.
Nanoland Group is involved with scientific research related to climate changes and its adverse effects and developing scientific films focusing on the effects of climate change. We are currently conducting a global scientific film project about climate change titled “It’s Tomorrow.” The film broadly deals with climate change and the myth that has been created about global warming and its adverse effects on Earth’s environment. The film will be shot in two parts with a feature-length format and will be entirely produced in the USA, and is scheduled to be released in 2015.
Power for USA provides information on energy issues. Each article published on www.PowerforUSA.com provides information that is essential for understanding whether government policies improve or worsen the availability and use of energy. Fracking, the generation of electricity, and jargon such as CCS, NGCC, and IGCC is made clear.
“The information provided by Heartland on global warming and climate change is both refreshing and important,” said Donn Dears, owner of the Power for USA website. “The conference provides ample opportunity for many more people to see the work being done by a large number of organizations.”
Science and Environmental Policy Project (SEPP)
The Science and Environmental Policy Project is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) educational organization. Its mission is to educate politicians, the media, and the public on the importance of scientific rigor in establishing environmental policy and related policies. SEPP does not solicit financial support from industry groups, government entities, or NGOs.
“We are excited to be once again co-sponsoring an International Conference on Climate Change,” said S. Fred Singer, chairman of the Science and Environmental Policy Project (SEPP). “Climate realists do not doubt the existence of climate change itself, but are skeptical of the simple-minded proposal to stop the climate from changing – or even to slow the process significantly – by replacing coal and oil to generate electric power and run cars with expensive and intermittent wind and solar energy.
“Scientific data demonstrate convincingly that global temperatures have not risen for the past 15 or more years in spite of the measured ten percent rise in atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases,” Singer said. “Yet politicians and many scientists influenced by politics continue to ignore the overwhelming importance of natural causes of global warming and cooling; they – and not skeptical scientists – are the real deniers, The observed facts will always win out over artificial manmade theoretical models attempting to simulate the real climate on computers.
“On behalf of the board of directors of SEPP, I congratulate The Heartland Institute for organizing ICCC9 and for its many important publications about climate change – especially the Climate Change Reconsidered series of reports written by scientists of the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC),” Singer said. “We also thank the Chinese Academy of Sciences for translating and publishing some of these reports.”
Sovereignty International, Inc.
Sovereignty International, Inc., focuses on threats to national sovereignty in public policies, international treaties and agreements, and in educational and cultural trends. Representatives of Sovereignty International have attended U.N. meetings around the world since the mid 1990s, reporting back to American audiences through live radio broadcasts, newspaper articles, and printed special reports.
Stairway Press is a fiercely independent publisher of climate-related books focusing on topics where the public debate is engaged. Libertarian-leaning SP fights mindless dogma across the entire political spectrum. Bestselling authors include Ilana Mercer, Tim Ball, Denis Rancourt, Joseph Olson, Charles Platt, Ken Coffman, and David J. Cord.
To Kill an Error is a novel about global warming intended to popularize the skeptical view of human-caused global warming. It asks readers to question commonly held beliefs about one of the most contentious issue of modern times. While the author’s skepticism about the long-term commercial viability of wind energy goes back almost 40 years, the bulk of his research has taken place in the past four years. Although the book is fiction, the factual elements are largely based on the public stances taken by both sides of the global warming debate.
“I am thrilled to be part of the ICCC9,” said Jed van de Poll, author of To Kill an Error, who added he has been a “dedicated follower” of the live-streams of previous conferences.
Virginia Scientists and Engineers for Energy and the Environment
Virginia Scientists and Engineers for Energy and the Environment (VA-SEEE) is a coalition of like-minded professionals advocating public policies regarding energy and environment based on verifiable science, not emotional appeal. Society benefits when impartial physical evidence and reason are guiding principles, not when they are ignored or replaced by dogma.

Global Warming Skeptics Receive Awards
Dr. S. Fred Singer, Dr. E. Calvin Beisner, and Tom Harris to Be Recognized at
the Ninth International Conference on Climate Change
JUNE 27, 2014 — Dr. S. Fred Singer, one of the world’s earliest and most credible critics of the theory that global warming is man-made and dangerous, will be recognized with an award for Lifetime Achievement in Climate Science at an international conference on global warming taking place July 7–9 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dr. E. Calvin Beisner, founder of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, and Tom Harris, executive director of the International Climate Science Coalition, also will be recognized for their contributions to the global warming debate.

The Ninth International Conference on Climate Change is expected to attract nearly 1,000 speakers, scientists, and guests willing to question whether man-made global warming is a problem worth addressing. The event has 31 cosponsors and features 60 prominent scientists and economists as keynoters or panelists.

Dr. S. Fred Singer
Dr. S. Fred Singer will receive a lifetime achievement in climate science award. Dr. Singer was among the first and is still the most prominent scientist in the world speaking out against global warming alarmism. Still active at the age of 90, he is the author, coauthor, and editor of hundreds of scientific articles and many books, including most recently Climate Change Reconsidered II: Biological Impacts (2014).
Dr. Singer, an atmospheric and space physicist, served as professor of environmental sciences at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville from 1971 to 1994. He founded the Science and Environmental Policy Project (SEPP) and the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC).
For more about Dr. Singer, click here.
“Fred Singer is the most amazing and wonderful person participating in the global warming debate today,” said Joseph Bast, president of The Heartland Institute, sponsor of the award. “Fred was one of the original ‘rocket scientists’ who helped put satellites and eventually men into space in the 1960s. He is a brilliant scientist and a pioneer in many fields, and one of the most recognized scientists of his generation.
“Fred could have accepted the awards and honorary degrees and settled into a peaceful retirement. Instead, he began writing books and articles exposing errors and corruption in climate science,” Bast continued. “As a result, this kind and patient man, a true American science hero, is slandered and vilified by environmental activists and journalists who couldn’t make it through a high school chemistry class.
“We are very proud to recognize Fred Singer’s lifetime achievements in climate science with this award,” said Bast.
Dr. E. Calvin Beisner
Dr. E. Calvin Beisner is founder and national spokesman of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, a network of theologians, pastors, other ministry leaders, scientists, economists, other scholars, and policy experts committed to applying Biblical principles to the twin challenges of economic development for the very poor around the world and wise Earth stewardship.
Dr. Beisner is a leading voice in the faith community on the issue of global warming. He has testified as an expert witness on the theology, ethics, science, and economics of climate change policy before the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and the Energy and Environment Subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce; briefed the White House Council on Environmental Policy; delivered a paper at a conference at the Vatican sponsored by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace; and spoken at many conferences, colleges, churches, and other venues.
For more about Dr. Beisner, click here.
Dr. Beisner will receive the “Outstanding Spokesperson on Faith, Science, and Stewardship Award” sponsored by The Heritage Foundation. “Receiving this award will be a great privilege,” Beisner said, “but it’s a privilege I share with the roughly 60 scholars who for nearly nine years have generously volunteered their time and expertise preparing the Cornwall Alliance’s major papers, public statements, and articles, not to mention advising me.”
“Cynics say strong adherence to religious faith and science cannot mix,” Bast said. “Cal Beisner shows how that cannot be further from the truth. His scholarship, research, and communication about climate science and economics – especially the impact of government policies that needlessly raise energy costs, condemning the elderly and poor to pain and suffering and even risks of death – have made valuable contributions to public knowledge. Cal is, in every way, an outstanding spokesperson for faith, science, and stewardship.”
Tom Harris
Tom Harris, B. Eng., M. Eng. (Mech., thermofluids), is executive director of the International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC), a non-partisan group of independent scientists, economists, and energy and policy experts formed in 2008 to promote better understanding of climate science and policy worldwide.
Mr. Harris is perhaps the most frequently cited and interviewed critic of exaggeration and alarmism in the global warming debate, appearing thousands of times on online news forums and regularly in newspapers in Canada and the U.S. and occasionally in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., and other countries. He is often interviewed on radio and TV.
For more about Tom Harris, click here.
“No one in the world is more deserving of an award for ‘Excellence in Climate Science Communication’ than Tom Harris,” said Joseph Bast, president of The Heartland Institute, sponsor of the award. “Tom saw the need for a genuinely international coalition devoted to defending climate science and communicating the truth to the general public. He didn’t wait for someone else to do it, he created it himself and continues to set a high standard for its work.
“Tom is the perfect communicator on climate issues,” Bast continued. “He is calm and patient when he needs to be, funny when he can be, and never angry. He loves to teach, debate, and inform others, and he’s made a fine art of it.
“The Heartland Institute is very proud to recognize Tom Harris with this year’s Excellence in Climate Science Communication Award.”

“Sherwood Idso is a true pioneer,” said Singer. “It is only fitting that he should be the first recipient of the Frederick Seitz Memorial Award. Sherwood was among the very first to point out that carbon dioxide is not an atmospheric pollutant, but a natural minor constituent of Earth’s atmosphere that is essential for maintaining all advanced forms of life: plants, animals, and humans.”
“Dr. Sherwood Idso richly deserves the honor of receiving the first Frederick Seitz Memorial Award. Fred Seitz, a good friend of mine, would have been very pleased with this selection,” said William Happer, a professor of physics at Princeton University and a former director of the office of energy research at the U.S. Department of Energy.
“For pointing out that more carbon dioxide is more likely to benefit the planet than harm it, Dr. Idso was viciously attacked by defenders of the global warming religion and by financial and political beneficiaries of the sacrifices supposedly needed for salvation,” Happer said. “I hope that Dr. Idso will take much pleasure from the Seitz Award, and from the vindication of two of his predictions: satellite measurements have shown a clear greening of the Earth over the past thirty years, and the observed warming has been much less than predicted by establishment climate models.”
Frederick Seitz Memorial Award
“The Frederick Seitz Memorial Award is being created to recognize the unsung heroes of the climate wars,” said Singer. “It rewards scholars for having the courage to swim against the stream of conventional thinking despite the financial and professional disincentives. It seeks to make up, in some small way, for the denial of recognition, promotions, and honors by a politicized and increasingly bureaucratized academy.”
“Dr. Seitz epitomized the courage, independence of thought, and commitment to truth and integrity in science that all scientists should aspire to,” said Joseph Bast, president of The Heartland Institute, host of the climate conference. “He made major scientific contributions in his field of specialty, solid state physics, but also devoted much of his life to serving as an ambassador and advocate for science. He founded the George C. Marshall Institute and was chairman of the Science and Environmental Policy Project – both organizations prominent in the debate over global warming – until his death in 2008.”

Three Global Warming Skeptics Win Awards
Recipients to be recognized at the 9th International Conference on Climate Change
for Speaking Truth to Power, Whistleblowing, and the Defense of Science
JUNE 19, 2014 — Three distinguished global warming skeptics – Patrick Moore, Alan Carlin, and Willie Soon – will receive special recognition at the 9th International Conference on Climate Change July 7–9 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas (ICCC9).
A total of nine awards will be handed out during plenary sessions at the conference, the largest gathering of scientists and policy experts who are skeptical of man-caused global warming. The conference is organized by The Heartland Institute and co-sponsored by 31 additional think tanks and other organizations. You can see the list of ICCC9 co-sponsors here. An updated list of award recipients can be found here.
“We’ve hosted eight successful conferences on climate change, and it’s long past time to publicly recognize some of the most important figures in the ongoing fight against climate alarmism,” said Joseph Bast, president of The Heartland Institute. “These are individuals who have put their careers at risk to speak their minds and report what the data actually show, not what computer models and politicians order them to show.”
“Such courage is worthy of praise,” Bast said.
The award winners:
Speaks Truth to Power Award: Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace
Presented by the EarthFree Institute
Patrick Moore, Ph.D. is an internationally renowned ecologist and environmentalist. Beginning his career as an activist/leader in the Greenpeace movement, he now concentrates on collaborative efforts aimed at finding environmental solutions. He speaks and lectures frequently at universities, community meetings, and conferences.
Through books such as Green Spirit – Trees Are the Answer and Confessions of a Greenpeace Dropout, Dr. Moore is known around the world as an eloquent voice for sensible environmentalism.
Climate Science Whistleblower Award: Alan Carlin, EPA economist (retired)
Presented by the Don’t Tread on My Business Foundation
Alan Carlin, Ph.D., now retired, was a career environmental economist at EPA when the Competitive Enterprise Institute broke the story of his negative report on the agency’s proposal to regulate greenhouse gases in June 2009. Dr. Carlin’s supervisor had ordered him to keep quiet about the report and stop working on the global warming issue.
EPA’s attempt to silence Dr. Carlin became a highly publicized embarrassment to the agency, especially given Administrator Lisa Jackson’s and President Obama’s announced commitment to transparency and scientific integrity. Since 2009, Dr. Carlin has been an active and influential writer and speaker on the climate change issue.
In response to the award, Dr. Carlin expressed his great appreciation and said how important it is to oppose EPA’s new proposed power plant regulations resulting from the 2009 Endangerment Finding since they would have adverse economic and environmental effects and are based on invalid science and an attempt by EPA to rewrite the Clean Air Act itself.
Courage in Defense of Science Award: Willie Soon
Presented by the George C. Marshall Institute
Willie Soon, Ph.D., an astrophysicist and geoscientist, is a leading authority on the relationship between solar phenomena and global climate. His discoveries challenge computer modelers and advocates who consistently underestimate solar influences on cloud formation, ocean currents, and wind that cause climate to change.
Dr. Soon has faced and risen above unethical and often libelous attacks on his research and his character, becoming one of the world’s most respected and influential voices for climate realism.
“Science and its practice are no longer free and willing today but instead are constantly terrorized by research funding gravy trains and group thinking,” Soon said. “This is why science needs defending and it takes courage to cleanse science from those cancerous elements and to bring her forward in its rightful place again. I am humbled and honored by this recognition.”

Greenpeace Co-founder Patrick Moore to Speak
at 9th International Conference on Climate Change
Moore Joins World’s Biggest Gathering of ‘Skeptic’ Scientists and Policy Experts at #ICCC9
MAY 7, 2014 — Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore will give one of the keynote addresses at the 9th International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC9) from July 7–9 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
Moore, who helped found Greenpeace in 1971 and served as its president and international director, left the organization in 1986. He wrote in the Wall Street Journal on Earth Day 2008 that he could not remain with Greenpeace, because “the environmental movement is not always guided by science.” Moore wrote, “Greenpeace has evolved into an organization of extremism and politically motivated agendas.” Good environmental stewardship, he concluded, “requires that science, not political agendas, drive our public policy.”
“We are happy to welcome Patrick Moore to his first International Conference on Climate Change,” said Joseph Bast, president of The Heartland Institute, which is hosting the conference for the ninth time. “He will find a welcome audience of open-minded scholars and civic and business leaders who are eager to hear his insights on the modern environmental movement.”
Hundreds of the world’s most prominent “skeptics” of the claim that human activity is causing a climate crisis will be at the conference to review the latest climate research and discuss the policy implications of government energy and environmental policies.
To learn more about ICCC9 and register for media credentials, visit the conference Web site.

International Gathering of Scientists Skeptical of Man-Caused Global Warming
to Take Place in Las Vegas from July 7 to July 9
Ninth International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC-9) will feature
world-famous scientists and writers, precede FreedomFest 2014
MARCH 26, 2014 — Is the theory of man-made global warming still credible? Why do surveys show a majority of Americans and scientists do not believe global warming is man-made and a major problem?
Hundreds of the world’s most prominent “skeptics” of the claim that human activity is causing a climate crisis will converge in Las Vegas on July 7–9 to review the latest research and celebrate what they see as recent events that vindicate their opposition to what some claim is a “scientific consensus.”
The Heartland Institute – which The Economist magazine in 2012 called “the world’s most prominent think tank promoting skepticism about man-made climate change” – is joining scores of other think tanks and advocacy groups to host the 9th International Conference on Climate Change at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Heartland has organized and hosted eight International Conferences on Climate Change since 2008. These events have attracted extensive international attention to the debate taking place in the scientific community over the causes and consequences of climate change.
Conference details are coming together as July approches, but the media and the public
can see updates and register now for the event at the conference Web site.
“The scientists Heartland works with demanded we host a ninth conference this year to foster a much-needed frank, honest, and open discussion of the current state of climate science,” said Heartland Institute President Joseph Bast, “and we just couldn’t refuse. The public, the press, and the scientific community will all benefit from learning about the latest research and observational data that indicate climate science is anything but ‘settled.’”
One co-sponsor of Heartland’s 9th International Conference on Climate Change is FreedomFest, which is holding its annual gathering in Las Vegas from July 9–12 at Planet Hollywood. Several speakers from Heartland’s conference at Mandalay Bay will join the FreedomFest line-up.
Heartland’s ninth climate conference coincides with the release of the fourth and fifth volumes of the Climate Change Reconsidered series by the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC). The third volume, Climate Change Reconsidered II: Physical Science, was released in September 2012. (Read the Summary for Policymakers.) The fourth volume, Climate Change Reconsidered II: Biological Impacts, and fifth volume, Climate Change Reconsidered II: Human Welfare, Energy and Policies, will be released digitally by The Heartland Institute in late March, and printed volumes will be available in May.
